Research and Reference Librarian, Data & Society
The Research and Reference Librarian is a professional with expertise in information organization and retrieval in the context of research production. This role will be a general resource within Data & Society for finding and organizing research to maximize discoverability and impact. They will be instrumental in cataloging existing Data & Society publications and other materials produced over the organization’s 10 year history and championing principles of citational justice within the organization.
They will lead a special project to build a sociotechnical knowledge hub that will make the broader body of sociotechnical research (much of it produced outside of traditional institutions of knowledge production) more discoverable. Hiring a qualified, visionary research librarian with the foundational skills of librarianship in research contexts and an ability to respectfully steward relationships with peer organizations will facilitate the success of this effort.
Backend Software Engineer, Patrick J. McGovern Foundation
The Patrick J McGovern Foundation (PJMF) is seeking an experienced, multi-faceted, and self-driven Backend Software Engineer (SDE). This role sits within the Products & Services team and will be directly engaged with the development, deployment, and maintenance of data and AI products that will drive positive social impact around the world. The charter of the Products & Services team is to identify, develop, and deploy strategic data and AI solutions focused on unlocking opportunities and addressing broad challenges the social good sector is facing now and in the near future. The Backend SDE is responsible for the backend development of cloud solutions that are based on ML model predictions, using a rapid prototyping development approach. We are a small, high-performance team and, in many ways, function as a startup. As such, the ideal candidate will be someone who can develop an end-to-end solution around which our ML products will be deployed.

In-House Research Fellow, Siegel Family Endowment
Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Head of Research, the In-House Research Fellow will conduct original research in a relevant field and work to disseminate those findings via thought leadership activities, such as through professional meetings, public presentations, and via media outlets. The fellowship will be either a one- or two-year appointment.
