Cybersecurity for All: Social Impact Careers in Cyber

Cybersecurity is often thought of as a purely technical discipline where you program and hack all day. While some cyber roles do require technical skills, others require strong skills and experience in the social sciences, international relations, research, economics, and international development, just to name a few. This livestream will showcase speakers who positively impact society through their cyber work without having to program or code. They will share how they use cyber to keep the public safe, what type of skills they draw on, and how they found themselves in the cyber field.

This livestream is particularly geared toward those who know nothing about cybersecurity or cyber policy and are looking to learn more. This is first in the newly launched Cybersecurity for All Series aimed at introducing ATIH’s Cyber & Democracy focus area while making cybersecurity and cyber policy accessible to the wider public.

Ellen Rowe (Policy Analyst, National Defense, Ottawa ON), Helen You (Cyber/IT Policy Associate, Federal Reserve Bank of New York), and Karla Zavala (Investigative Analyst) will be in conversation with All Tech Is Human Cyber & Democracy Lead Elisa Fox.
