Child Safety Expert Vaishnavi J to Join All Tech Is Human’s Braintrust.
We are thrilled to welcome Vaishnavi J, a noted child expert, to our Braintrust. All Tech Is Human’s Braintrust is a new approach for our organization to rapidly tackle a range of thorny tech & society issues that benefit from assembled expertise. Facing a fast-moving and unpredictable future, our Braintrust allows us to greatly expand our readily-available expertise for developing white papers, guides, strategy, and educational resources.
Vaishnavi J is a leading expert at the intersection of youth, technology, and digital wellbeing. With over 16 years of experience building product and policy solutions at Meta, Google, and Twitter, she is a trusted advisor to executives and boards navigating high-stakes decisions around age-appropriate design, regulation, and AI risk.
She is the founder and principal of Vys, the advisory firm tech companies turn to when youth safety, age-appropriate design, and youth AI risks become business-critical. Vys translates complex safety and regulatory requirements into tangible product features, specializing in safety-by-design architecture for younger users, age assurance deployments, and the mitigation of youth-centric risks in AI and emerging platforms.

Vaishnavi’s expertise is grounded in deep institutional experience. She previously served as the Global Head of Youth Policy at Meta, where she led age-appropriate strategy across Instagram, Facebook, and Reality Labs. Before that, she was Twitter’s first Head of Safety for APAC and served as a child safety policy lead for Google.
Beyond her advisory work, Vaishnavi plays an active role in tech governance, co-chairing the Board of Directors at the Integrity Institute and serving on the Board of Advisors at the Sustainable Media Center. A frequent commentator for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and BBC, she holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and an LLM in IT & IP Law from the University of Hong Kong.
