(Monday, November 4, 2024, New York, New York) All Tech Is Human is proud to announce the appointment of Deb Donig as as an incoming Siegel Family Endowment Research Fellow. In her role, she will build on an extensive network of Siegel Research Fellows who are working to understand and shape the impact of technology on society.

Deb Donig is a Lecturer UC Berkeley’s School of Information in the MA in Data Science Program and an Assistant Professor of English Literature at Cal Poly. She is the co-founder of the Cal Poly Ethical Technology Initiative and the host of “Technically Human,” a podcast where she talks with major thinkers, writers, and industry-leading technologists about the relationship between humans and the technologies we create.

“All Tech is Human uniquely understands the importance of listening to its constituencies and allowing them to lead the direction of the responsible tech movement, and working collaboratively with the community to achieve its vision. ATIH represents a movement to develop a vision of responsible technological production informed by people on the ground, one committed to thinking across sectors and with a commitment of intellectual diversity to create a robustly collaborative movement. ATIH has the energy and community spirit of activism combined with the rigor of scholarship and data-driven research that allows the organization to channel that energy into creating sustainable solutions and impactful interventions.”

Donig’s approach underscores All Tech is Human's dedication to fostering a Responsible Tech landscape. One that unites scholarly insight, community-driven innovation, and actionable strategies for meaningful change.

”Most of all, after dedicating my academic career to exploring the concepts of responsible technology I’m excited to join an organization fundamentally animated by both the idea that all tech is human, and the vision for putting this idea into practice. I want to use my time with ATIH to materializing that idea into practice, allowing workers to translate a way of thinking about responsible innovation into practicing responsible innovation, in ways that can transform our tech products and cultures so that they better serve our very human values.” Donig continued.
