Tech Talent Project - Federal Partnership Director [Remote / United States]
Tech Talent Project is hiring a remote full-time Federal Partnership Director to “manage federal relationships, match, and help recruit leaders with modern technical expertise to help the federal government achieve critical economic, policy, and human outcomes.”
The qualified candidate will have “at least 8+ years’ experience working in modern technology, the federal government, and/or recruiting--and ideally, a combination of at least two of these.”
In this role, you will “[b]uild and maintain relationships with federal stakeholders, key network contacts, and other organizations working in this space, with a special focus on leading Tech Talent’s US of Tech partnerships… [and]…[b]uild and maintain strong networks in the tech industry and government.”
The salary is between $140,000 - $170,000, depending on experience, and the role is open until September 29th.

New America - Project Manager - PIT-UN [Washington, D.C.]
New America is hiring a part-time 30-hours/week Project Manager - PIT-UN based in Washington, D.C.
In this role, you will “support the growth and development of the Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN)…coordinate PITUN member field building activities within the Network as well as their participation in quarterly meetings, working groups, committees, the annual convening and the Network Challenge…[as well as] ensuring that PIT-UN members are integrated within New America PIT and other relevant programs as subject matter experts and exemplars of PIT in practice.”
The ideal candidate will have an “MA degree in higher education/public administration, member support services, or equivalent [and] Three to five years of related experience.”
This one-year grant-funded position has a salary of $52,500 - $60,750 plus benefits, and the role is open until filled but candidates who apply by Sep. 30th will be given priority.

The Alan Turing Institute - Research Assistant, Data Justice and Global Ethical Futures [London]
The Alan Turing Institute’s Public Policy Programme is hiring several London-based Full-time Research Assistants, Data Justice and Global Ethical Futures for two-year terms to “[assist] the Ethics Theme in research and writing tasks, being directly involved in existing research, and helping to extend this research by facilitating the Turing’s engagement with external partners.”
“The three ongoing projects within the Ethics Theme are:
Producing an algorithmic impact assessment and assurance framework with a concentration on international human rights as well as an accompanying user’s guide;
Researching and analysing the context of children’s rights as they relate to AI through a series of engagements, supplemented with desk-based research.
Advancing global and intercultural perspectives on data justice through the production of an extensive literature review and three preliminary guides aimed at policymakers, developers, and citizens.”
The ideal candidates will have “[a] Master’s degree awarded in a discipline with a specialism that provides suitable theoretical tools for understanding the ethical issues raised by data science, AI, and related digital technologies, and their social implications. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.”

The Alan Turing Institute - Postdoctoral Research Associate, Data Justice and Global Ethical Futures [London]
The Alan Turing Institute’s Public Policy Programme is hiring several London-based Full-time postdoctoral researchers, Data Justice and Global Ethical Futures for two-year terms.

Mozilla Foundation - Senior Fellow: Trustworthy AI [Remote]
Mozilla Foundation is looking for Remote Full-time or Part-time Senior Fellows to join the Trustworthy AI initiative for a duration from 6 months up to a maximum of 2 years.
“Our long-term impact goal is: In a world of AI, consumer technology enriches the lives of human beings. Within this broader landscape outlined in our Trustworthy AI Theory of Change and Trustworthy AI White paper, we have chosen to hone in on three areas where we believe we can make real progress: transparency, bias and data stewardship.”
Topic areas include Transparency, Bias, Data Stewardship, Movement Building, and Open Source.
“Senior Fellows should propose, design, and drive an independent project that advances Mozilla’s goals in one of the five focus areas listed above and leverages the resources and expertise a partnership with Mozilla can provide. This project may be work you’re already doing that would be strengthened or amplified as part of the fellowship, or work that you’ve been building towards, but haven’t yet started.”

Hopelab - Head of Research [Remote, San Francisco]
Hopelab is looking to hire a remote, full-time Head of Research to pursue their mission “to support health equity for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ teens and young adults.”
“The Head of Research supports Hopelab’s mission by serving as an expert in mental health, well-being, and positive development of adolescents and emerging adults; advising and consulting with investees, grantees and other partners on the design, implementation, and evaluation of technology-based products and services in the marketplace that support teen and young adult mental health and well-being; and, identifying collaborative opportunities with nonprofit, academic, and industry partners to advance measurement, widen impact, and conduct innovative translational science to promote thriving and health equity for young people.”
The ideal candidate will have “Doctorate level training in a clinical and/or other applied research discipline relevant to mental health and well-being (e.g., clinical/health/developmental psychology, public health, social work, medicine)” as well as “8+ years of experience in an academic or industry role defining and carrying out cutting-edge mixed method research related to adolescent and young adult mental health and well-being, including behavior change and/or wellbeing science specifically applied to digital mental health and young people of color and/or LGBTQ+ youth”
Business & Human Rights Resource Centre - Head of Technology and Human Rights [Remote / Strong preference for Global South]
Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is hiring a full-time Head of Technology and Human Rights “to lead and strengthen its work on accountable digital technologies...expanding the Resource Centre's work on technology and human rights.” The position is remote, with a strong preference for candidates from the Global South.
The ideal candidate will have “At least 7 years demonstrable commitment and expertise at the nexus of human rights, social justice, and technology” and “At least 5 years of programme management experience.”
This position has a starting salary of £35-45,000 and will close on Oct. 18th.
Saidot - Service Business Founder [Helsinki]
Saidot is seeking a full-time Helsinki-based Service Business Founder.

Lincoln Network - Head of Technology, Media, and Digital Free Expression [Washington, D.C. / Remote]
Lincoln Network is hiring a full-time Washington, D.C.-based Head of Technology, Media, and Digital Free Expression to lead a “policy team focused on a range of issues intersecting with online platform governance, including: the future of news in the digital era, threats to online free expression, internet infrastructure regulation, and the emerging creator economy.”
The role will include “[Producing] original research papers (around 1 per quarter), commentary (around 1-2 per week), and other content that address relevant issues in this policy space,” as well as [managing] fellows, junior staff, contractors, and outside experts to produce high-quality research and commentary.”
Qualified candidates will possess “[d]eep subject matter expertise in tech policy, including laws, regulations, and jurisprudence. This might include areas such as free speech, online copyright, telecom, antitrust, digital privacy, etc.” Notably, “[c]ollege degree in a related field (e.g. economics, politics, law, or STEM) is recommended but not required. Law degree (JD or LLM) is also preferred, but not required. Programming or statistical software skills are a plus.”
Clinic to End Tech Abuse (CETA), Cornell Tech, Cornell University - Volunteer Technologists [New York / Remote]
Cornell Tech’s Clinic to End Tech Abuse (CETA) is looking for remote part-time Volunteer Technologists to “help domestic violence survivors end technology-related abuse.”
They are looking for two types of volunteers: “(1) those with strong computer science or technology-related qualifications, and (2) those who do not have a technical background but are comfortable navigating privacy settings and have other relevant skills.”
The role will require a time commitment of roughly 10 hours per month.
The City of San Jose, City Manager’s Office of Civic Innovation - Data Equity Lead (Assistant To The City Manager) [San Jose]
The City of San Jose, City Manager’s Office of Civic Innovation is hiring a full-time Data Equity Lead (Assistant To The City Manager).
“The Data Equity Lead reports directly to the Director of the Office of Civic Innovation and has overall accountability for strategy and execution of a program that delivers data-to-goal insights, advances effectiveness along equity outcomes, engages stakeholders through data, and supports departments in making continuous improvements. The work is done in close partnership with City departments and a focused support team. In effect, the Data Equity Lead combines classic strategic planning with program management.”
The ideal candidate will have “[a] Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, or a discipline related to the business performed by the department, AND six (6) years management and/or administrative experience in government or private business/industry.”
The salary range for this position is $109,633.88 - $170,664.08.
Aaqua - Outreach & Engagement Lead, Trust & Safety [Los Angeles]
Aaqua is seeking an Outreach & Engagement Lead, Trust & Safety based in Los Angeles for this full-time opportunity “to develop a strategy of policy engagement that informs Aaqua safety and integrity practices and policies.”
The role will entail “[developing] and [sustaining] a network of partnerships and collaboration with external experts, industry thought leaders, civil society leaders and multistakeholder initiatives in the space of Trust and Safety.”
The ideal candidate will have “4 years or more of experience in partnerships or outreach / developer relations type roles at tech/social media / User Generated Content (UGC) platforms,” as well as a “[d]eep understanding of UGC, short video-sharing platforms, features, and its related safety and integrity issues.”
Democracy Fund - Senior Associate, Digital Democracy Initiative [Washington, D.C.]
Democracy Fund is hiring a full-time Washington, D.C.-based Senior Associate, Digital Democracy Initiative to further their work of getting Americans “ the news and information they need to engage in civic life and to participate fully in online conversations without facing discrimination, misinformation, or harassment. To that end, we invest in organizations and coalitions who hold digital platforms accountable, combat misinformation, and support the vital news our democracy needs to function effectively.”
In this role, you will “[c]ollaborate with the DDI Associate Director to support overall efforts, including management of staff, consultants, programming, and grantmaking” as well as “[m]anage a portfolio of grants with other program staff, including identifying, shaping, and preparing grants for consideration by the Associate Director, foundation investment committee, and board of directors.”
The ideal candidate will have a “BA or equivalent experience required, and at least 5 - 7 years of experience working in roles that engaged questions related to social media platforms, journalism funding, and media diversity” as well as “D[d]monstrated experience with policy campaigns involving Congress, the White House, or in a state or federal regulatory agency.”
Salary range begins at $98,300 per year.
Democracy Fund - Program Associate, Digital Democracy Initiative [Washington, D.C.]

In this role, you will “Review grant application materials. Conduct and document legal due diligence for grants, sponsorships and amendments. Monitor legal issues in partnership with the Senior Counsel, Senior Associate, and Associate Director. Prepare grant, sponsorship, and amendment agreements. Compile and analyze grant and portfolio data that can be used for internal portfolio reviews, board meetings, and Democracy Fund’s annual tax return and audit”
The ideal candidate will have a “BA or equivalent experience preferred, with at least 3-5 years of experience in roles that involved managing multiple projects, attention to detail, strategic thinking, and organizing events, in the fields of journalism, digital democracy, and/or philanthropy.”
Salary range begins at $73,900 per year.
