The Ada Lovelace Institute - Senior Researcher (Public sector use of data and algorithms) [London]
The Ada Lovelace Institute is hiring a full-time London-based Senior Researcher (Public sector use of data and algorithms) to “lead a substantive research programme: Public-sector use of data and algorithms.”
The qualified candidate will have “a background researching for an academic organisation, policy department or a regulator, a tech company, research institute or charity. You may have a university degree, or have gained experience from an apprenticeship or trainee programme at a research, policy, private-sector or civil-society.”
In this role, you will “develop and execute Ada’s strategy for the Public Sector Data and Algorithms. This will include defining a research agenda (bringing together existing major projects including an ethnographic study of local authority use of predictive analytics, as well as policy-focused research on transparency registers in partnership with the Central Digital and Data Office) and communications strategies for outputs, and conceptualising, facilitating and attending meetings, workshops and events with a view to achieving strategic impact.”
The salary is £40,000, and the role is open until November 1st.

UNICEF is looking for a full-time remote Gender Based Violence GBV Technology Consultant (Product & Partnership Advisory) for 11.5 months to “oversee key deliverables linked to UNICEF’s GBViE Tech products.”
The qualified candidate will have a “University degree in Computer Science, Business Administration” and “8-10 years of systems analysis experience in a non-profit setting and/or in the international development field, including with a UN agency.”
In this role, you will “Oversee and lead coordination for improvement of business processes for the product development,” and “Lead on the development of a business model to ensure the sustainability of the GBViE Tech products,” among other tasks.

The Alan Turing Institute - Research Assistant, Women in Data Science and AI [London, UK]
The Alan Turing Institute is hiring a London-based full-time Research Assistant, Women in Data Science and AI for a two-year position “to work on the Women in Data Science and AI project. The RA will provide crucial support for our ongoing work.”
The candidate will “[a]ssist the Public Policy Programme’s Women in Data Science and AI project in the development and delivery of research outputs,” and “Support as well as lead on exploratory mapping and scoping work around data availability and access, relevant work and initiatives, as well as relevant industry policies and AI systems,” among other duties.
The ideal candidate will have a “Master’s degree awarded in a discipline with a specialism that provides suitable tools for understanding the issues raised by data science, AI, and related digital technologies, and their social implications, such as Science and Technology Studies (STS).”

J.P. Morgan Chase is hiring a full-time New York or Palo Alto-based AI Researcher (Fairness) at the Executive Director, Vice President, or Sr. Associate level to “lead end-to-end research to understand how AI systems can be designed holistically with fairness, interpretability, privacy, security, safety, and robustness as first-class concerns alongside business performance, so that our corporate values are reflected in practical applications.”
The qualified candidate will have a “Masters degree or PhD with relevant work experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or related fields,” as well as “Extensive programming skills in Python, Julia, Java, C++, or similar programming languages used in production machine learning and data science.”
In this role, you will “work on multiple research projects in collaboration with internal and external researchers and with applied engineering teams. You will be integral to all aspects of the research lifecycle such as formulating problems, gathering data, generating hypotheses, developing models and algorithms, conducting experiments, synthesizing results, building prototype applications and communicating the significance of your research.”
The Ohio State University School of Engineering - Post Doctoral Scholar (human-agent/robot interaction) [Columbus, OH]
The Ohio State University School of Engineering is seeking a Columbus-based full-time fixed-term Post-Doctoral Scholar to “[participate] in research on human-agent/robot interaction and the development of artificial intelligence/machine learning algorithms related to human interaction.”
The Post-Doctoral Scholar “conducts human subject and quantitative studies; applies statistical methods to analyze data for outcomes; maintains IRB protocol and makes amendments as needed; prepares and writes 2-3 publications and presents findings at local and national conferences; collaborates with external colleagues on proposal writing and publishing results; mentors undergraduate and graduate students; assists with broadening participation outreach efforts.”
The salary for this position is $55,000- $65,000.
Christchurch Call Advisory Network - Christchurch Call Advisory Network Coordinator [Remote, New Zealand]
Christchurch Call Advisory Network is hiring a part-time remote New Zealand-based Christchurch Call Advisory Network Coordinator to “build organization structures from the ground up and engage with current Network members.”
The qualified candidate will have “Demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas a plus: human rights, terrorism and violent extremism, content moderation, digital rights, technology, online harassment, multistakeholder governance”
In this role, you will “wear several hats, including operational and membership engagement. A little more than half of your time will be spent coordinating the efforts of the Network...The rest of your time will be spent engaging with current members of the Network to assess their expertise, capacity and priority interests, with the goal of creating a report on membership with target areas for engagement with current and potential members, and targeted outreach.”
The pay is $50 NZD per hr for 20 hrs per week, not to exceed $51,900 NZD over 12 mths and the role closes on November 12th.
Sony AI - Research Scientist (AI Ethics) [Remote]
Sony AI is hiring a full-time remote Research Scientist (AI Ethics) to “research, develop and deploy FTA technology specifically for image processing and real-world applications in various business areas.”
The qualified candidate will have a “Background in Machine Learning (PhD or equivalent experience) with a track record of relevant academic publications, patents, and/or open source software.”
In this role, you will “Lead research programs in AI ethics especially fairness, accountability and transparency ●Work closely with the companies AI ethics boards to identify key issues around AI ethics in Sony's diverse businesses ●Work closely with a team of AI researchers and programmers in the US, Switzerland and Japan on ambitious AI projects ●Investigate new algorithms to solve fundamental AI ethics problems,” among other tasks.

Google is hiring a full-time San Francisco-based Staff Software Engineer, Product Inclusion and Equity, Core who could “bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile” in order to “design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.”

Discord - Senior Product Marketing Manager [San Francisco, CA]
Discord is hiring a full-time San Francisco-based Senior Product Marketing Manager to “Help inspire and grow new solutions and features that foster a safe environment for all users” and “Work with our creative, community, and brand marketing teams to build the product narrative across Trust & Safety.”
The qualified candidate will have “5+ years of product marketing experience around safety, privacy, and policy issues at a tech company focused on social products or communication platforms.”
