New_ Public - Community Architect; Design Facilitator [Remote]
New_ Public is seeking a Community Architect as well as a Design Facilitator for Part-time, remote, 6-month contracts.
The Community Architect “will be responsible for co-creating and executing engagement strategy for a diverse and interconnected set of communities across the New_ Public network, you will help to develop and manage the experiences, infrastructure, and tools necessary to support engagement and the organic growth of the network like our recent New_ Public Festival. This person will play an essential role in designing and managing in-person and virtual touchpoints for the New_ Public network and our internal team. You will also develop content and programming necessary to bring these events to life.”
“The ideal candidate has experience at the intersection of technology and community building, a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), and comfortable identifying and navigating power dynamics within and among diverse groups.”

H&M Group - Responsible AI & Data Specialist with a focus on operation [Stockholm]
H&M Group is seeking a full-time Stockholm-based Responsible AI & Data Specialist, with focus on operationalization and execution of H&M Group’s responsible AI and data strategy. “You will be performing assessments of AI and data products throughout different product lifecycle stages, providing necessary support to various governance initiatives and the Responsible AI and data training and awareness raising program, as well as contributing to other activities of the Responsible AI & Data team.”
In this role, you will be “Managing the end-to-end operation of responsible AI and data assessment processes across the H&M Group and with relevant stakeholders from initiation to follow-up. · Orchestrating early risk and impact assessment of AI and data products and, in collaboration with experts from relevant domains, supporting product teams and business units in creating suitable response plans where necessary. · Providing necessary support to various governance initiatives and in-depth ethical reviews of AI and data products.”
The successful candidate will have “At the minimum a master’s degree in social sciences, philosophy, or law with a strong focus on AI and data. Alternatively, a master’s degree in data science, machine learning or similar with strong interest in the social, ethical, and legal dimensions of AI and data. - 2+ years of experience in the operations of AI or data governance. Professional experience working with the operations of Responsible AI and data is highly desirable. - Professional experience in technology-related risk assessment and management, ethics and compliance, or similar.”

Coding it Forward - 2022 Civic Digital Fellowship/Civic Innovation Corps [Remote]
Coding it Forward welcomes applicants to the 2022 Civic Digital Fellowship/Civic Innovation Corps. “The Civic Digital Fellowship is a first-of-its-kind model that empowers early-career technologists to explore careers in public service through a 10-week internship.”
“We recruit Fellows across four areas of practice: software engineering, data, design, product management.”
“Civic Digital Fellowship: Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an undergraduate (2- or 4-year) or graduate degree program at an accredited institution of higher learning.”
“Civic Innovation Corps: Must be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a bootcamp or certificate program (minimum of 12 weeks), undergraduate, or graduate degree program.”
“The hourly wage for undergraduates starts at $15 (~$6,000 for 10 weeks) and for graduate students starts at $17.50 (~$7,000 for 10 weeks). Fellows working in-person will also receive housing. Additional financial assistance is available, beginning at $1,500, to those with demonstrated need.”

The successful candidate will have the following:
PhD or Masters degree in related discipline or equivalent (10+ years) work experience required.
Extensive research experience in sociotechnical approaches to artificial intelligence; or otherwise demonstrated technical competence in implementing, designing and managing AI systems.
Extensive work experience overseeing program design, development, implementation and evaluation across several topic areas.
The salary range is $170,000 - $190,000 and the deadline to apply is January 31st.

Partnership on AI - Director of Policy and Public Affairs [San Francisco / Remote]
“The Partnership on AI (PAI) is hiring a highly strategic and knowledgeable Director of Policy and Public Affairs to build a portfolio of dynamic policy outreach and public affairs to advance PAI’s theory of social change and impact.”
“The Director of Policy and Public Affairs will develop PAI’s public affairs action plan in collaboration with PAI Staff and Partners, including the identification of policy trends, PAI priorities and jurisdictions, and Partner priorities; the development of policy briefings and convenings; the creation of an annual progress monitoring and reporting knowledge hub; and, the development of PAI positions on emerging issues.”
In this role, you will “Identify opportunities for PAI to engage with the responsible AI public policy community to promote the development of effective public policy,” and “Monitor, interpret, and analyze global policy developments related to responsible AI,” as well as “Monitor emerging topics in the media, developing PAI’s capacity to assess issues in order to proactively take positions and a point of view on pertinent issues and topics,” and “Work with the Director of Content and Communications to develop materials for policy outreach, publicize our work through both media relations and thought leadership development,” among other tasks.
The successful candidate will have a “Masters degree or higher in related discipline or equivalent (10+ years) work experience required,” as well as “Extensive research and work experience in tech-related public policy settings such as in governments, think tanks, research institutes, corporate policy environments, or public interest groups on issues closely or directly associated with AI/ML,” among other qualifications.

U.S. Digital Response - Digital Service Program Lead [Remote]

“This role will shape our work with State and local government partners to build their internal capacity, provide technical assistance where valuable, and partner with other organizations in the ecosystem to ensure we are supporting digital capacity building in the service of better outcomes for residents.”
In this role, you will “Set direction for how USDR can support new and existing government digital service teams in increasing access to government services,” and “Build and maintain strong relationships with government partners and key stakeholders in the ecosystem,” among other tasks.
“You might be a good fit for this role if you’re a senior policy advisor, technologist with experience leading digital service teams, government executive, or delivery manager with mentorship or team leadership experience.”

IKEA Digital - Algorithmic Accountability Area Manager, Digital Ethics and Responsibility AI Team [Amsterdam]
IKEA Digital is hiring a full-time Amsterdam-based “people centric leader with deep theoretical and practical experiences in developing, scaling and deploying advanced AI algorithms and software systems.”
“You will manage a diverse team of data scientists, researchers, and engineers that will collaborate with key internal players to develop and scale algorithmic accountability solutions applied to Ingka business domains and value-chains. These algorithmic accountability solutions will involve among others key components in terms of robustness, value-by-design, and auditability.”
Qualifications include “PhD in relevant topics such as applied mathematics, computer science with specialization in artificial intelligence, optimization, or machine learning.” as well as “Minimum 3 years of experience working on applied digital, data and AI governance& ethics in the private or public sector,” among others.
Spotify - Senior Data Scientist,
Programming Responsibility [New York, NY / Remote]
Spotify is seeking a full-time Senior Data Scientist, Programming Responsibility based in either European or Eastern Standard/Daylight time zones.
“We are looking for a seasoned data scientist with experience in programming responsibility to join our Personalization Platform team. The Personalization Platform team builds the models, tools, and data products that represent user taste, behavior, discovery, and their relationships with content. Your work will help Spotify improve the quality of our recommended content and help our teams comply with policies and principles.”
You will “Develop metrics to evaluate risks in content recommendation and measure the effectiveness of mitigations,” and “Build an understanding of data gaps and advocate for new data collection strategies to fuel our programming responsibility goals,” among other tasks.
Competitive applicants should have “5+ years of professional experience in applied research and statistical modeling related to recommendations and content programming. Technical competence to perform advanced analytics: coding skills (such as R, Python, or Scala), experience with analytics and visualization tools (SQL, Tableau, ggplot/matplotlib or equivalent), and experience performing analysis with large datasets. Significant expertise in experimentation methodologies. Significant breadth and depth of statistics/ML knowledge.”

The Responsible AI team within Google Research is looking to hire a full-time Mountain View-based Product Manager to “focus on the development of pre-trained language models.”
In this role, you will
Develop the critical Responsible AI goals.
Develop datasets and metrics for evaluation.
Prototype approaches for measurement and mitigation.
Partner with downstream product and infrastructure teams to build and scale learnings.
Qualified candidates will have at least a “Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience. 7 years of experience in product management or a similar field. Experience in AI/ML,” among other qualifications.
