Public Interest Technology Pathways Director, UMass Amherst

The Pathways Director will be part of the leadership team for PIT@UMass and will focus on directing the outreach efforts of the initiative that involves experts and practitioners in the private and public sectors. The Pathways Director will develop, lead, and teach a new PIT careers course and Clinic and regularly teach the PIT introductory course. 


Artificial Intelligence Specialist, CIA

As an Artificial Intelligence Specialist for CIA, you will employ a wide range of AI techniques, to include deep learning and machine learning, multi-agent systems, expert systems, and mixed-initiative human-machine teaming to enable outstanding intelligent collection and the exploitation of data from our collection systems. Our AI solutions will improve the performance of our collection systems, enable faster, deeper, and better explained insights from collection. The solutions will ultimately boost the performance of our mission experts by enabling human - machine teaming and putting the right insights before the right experts algorithmically.

CIA's collection systems offer specialized insights spanning a wide range of phenomena and types of data; the AI work occurs across the Agency with edge processing, core processing, and autonomous capabilities. You will be working with teams of world-class experts, both internal and external to CIA - in many cases you will be steering the work of large collaborative teams. Your work will be realized using advanced hardware, software, and computational platforms with an emphasis of highly scalable and efficient solutions to bring exploitation capabilities to production and bear insights on the nation's most difficult national security challenges.

Problem solving is highly collaborative, you will be working with problem domain experts, data and collection experts, systems designers and integrators, and with analysts who interpret the insights you will be deriving. You will develop your expertise with both Agency-sponsored continuing education, academic and conference participation, and highly integrated on the job training with deep domain experts.


Senior Product Developer, ProPublica

ProPublica, the nation’s leading nonprofit investigative newsroom, is in search of a full-stack Senior Product Developer to lead several key initiatives. This vital role serves to amplify ProPublica's mission — publishing journalism with real-world impact — by crafting scalable, efficient and user-centric products such as our main website, publishing system and newsletters.


Interactive UI Developer to Protect Voting Rights in the 2024 General Election, Centre for New Data

The Centre for New Data is seeking to create an interactive dashboard that will visualize data about polling location placement in historical and recent elections. Our users (voting rights organizations) would like to extract insights about the adequacy and equity of polling locations, as a means to strengthen their efforts at county-level advocacy to expand and equalize in-person voting access. Data to be visualized includes county-level, precinct-level, and aggregated voter-level data, spanning about 4 to 8 states. The UI Developer will report to the Executive Director, work with our Product Management Fellow, and alongside our backend data engineer.


Policy Analyst, Tech Policy Centre, The Heritage Foundation

The Policy Analyst is responsible for contributing to the development of policy papers, studies and reports by conducting unsupervised research on the impact of technology on culture, society, and American self-governance. This position serves on research teams with lead responsibility for regulatory analysis and rulemaking by tech-related government agencies. The Policy Analyst works with other staff to enhance research and refine proposals into affirmative public policy positions that advance Heritage’s agenda of holding Big Tech companies accountable through antitrust enforcement, reform of existing legislation, and the proposal of new measures to end its abuses, limit harms to minors, and challenge its anti-competitive practices.


Research Fellow - CyberAI, Center for Security and Emerging Technology

You will help lead and coordinate Cyber efforts on the CyberAI project, including shaping priorities, laying out an overall research strategy, overseeing the execution of the research and production of reports, and helping to manage supporting researchers, including (Sr.) Research Analysts and Student Research Assistants. CSET Fellows directly impact national security and tech policy discussions. Policymakers, national agencies, and congressional committees seek their expertise and analyses. Additionally, CSET Fellows frequently interact with international organizations, act as a connector between industry and government, and serve as subject matter experts for the media. 


Cataloguer, Tech Against Terrorism

The successful candidate will join Tech Against Terrorism as its first cataloguer to help build an archive of verified terrorist content. The archive will hold material produced by designated terrorist organisations that we currently alert to tech companies when found on their platforms through our Terrorist Content Analytics Platform (TCAP). The cataloguers will be responsible for the tagging, structuring, labelling, and sorting of the content before it can be included in the archive. The role will involve close collaboration with Tech Against Terrorism’s TCAP, OSINT, and Development teams. 


Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) Spring 2024 Intern

The Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) internship program is designed to provide a variety of professional opportunities and exposure to rising young leaders in the transatlantic space. The internship program is unpaid and is offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer both virtually and in-person.

Interns will have the opportunity to attend internal team meetings, professional development workshops, and DC-based events.

Associate, Latin America, Luminate

The Associate, Latin America will support the Latin America team’s efforts across the region, with a primary focus on Colombia and additional work in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. The Associate will support the efforts to build and manage a portfolio of grants; work closely with existing partner organisations to monitor performance and maximise social impact; contribute to research and advocacy work related to key issues associated with Luminate’s strategy and efforts in the region; and support internal and external communications efforts for the Latin America team.
