Ethical AI Mentors in the 2023 Responsible Tech Mentorship Program

This year we’re joined by 115 volunteer mentors and 375 mentees from nearly 35 countries. Mentors work at startups, non-profits, in government, at large companies, and even run their own organizations. Many of our mentors are returning for a second time, and some have been with us since the very first cohort in 2021.

August 1 marks the second month of our current program. During first meetings, mentors led their mentees in introductory sessions where they set goals for the program. In August, mentors will talk to their groups about their own trajectories and what it looks like to be a responsible tech practitioner.

Mentorship pods have been divided into subgroups by speciality, and below you’ll find a list of all the mentors in the Ethical AI groupβ€”our largest subgroup this year.

Ethical AI is crucial because it ensures that artificial intelligence technologies are developed and deployed ethically and with consideration for their impact on society. By prioritizing responsibility, AI developers and stakeholders can mitigate potential biases, discrimination, and harmful consequences that AI systems may inadvertently propagate. Responsible AI fosters transparency and accountability, allowing users to understand how AI algorithms make decisions and ensuring they are held accountable for their actions. It also promotes inclusivity, as responsible AI takes into account diverse perspectives and ensures fair representation across various demographics. Embracing responsible AI practices helps build trust between users, businesses, and AI systems, paving the way for a more sustainable and beneficial integration of AI in our daily lives.
