Senior Analyst, ACLU

Reporting to the Director of Affiliate & Advocacy Analytics, the Senior Analyst will specialize in electoral and advocacy work, working in close partnership with the ACLU’s National political advocacy staff and ACLU affiliates. This includes partnering with National & affiliate stakeholders to understand needs, conduct analyses, and translate results for non-technical audiences. Using VAN/other sources, work with stakeholders and coalition partners to support voter contact strategies, develop field organizing strategies, and establish protocols and best practices for data collection and storage. The Senior Analyst will maintain documentation of voter contact information & turnout, build target universes, and conduct descriptive/statistical analysis. This position is also responsible for conducting and/or monitoring A/B testing and creating narrative/analytical/visual advocacy materials.


Senior Human-Centered AI Researcher, Carnegie Mellon University

As a Human-Centered AI Researcher in the Trust Lab, you will lead research to support the operationalization of trustworthy, human-centered, and responsible AI (RAI) systems. You will collaborate with technical staff and government customers and help shape the AI Division’s approach to current national initiatives and make a difference for our government customers. You will apply your user experience (UX) expertise to contribute directly to government projects on important and challenging problems. The work environment in the AI Division is dynamic and flexible, with opportunities to develop new skills, learn about new frameworks and techniques, and collaborate with other human-centered researchers in the Trust Lab and across CMU.


Intern, Real Facebook Oversight Board

Are you a student interested in Facebook accountability? The Real Facebook Oversight Board (RFOB) is hiring interns for Spring 2024! RFOB is a group of prominent global experts, journalists, and academics, some of whom are the company’s fiercest critics, looking to hold Facebook to account (NBC). Our flagship research, the Facebook Receipts, is designed to expose Facebook’s activity in Washington D.C. and around the globe as it attempts to influence legislation and regulation. The goal is to pull back the curtain on Facebook’s influence operations that it tries to conceal from public view. Interns will work specifically on this project.


Policy Associate Manager, Meta

Meta is hiring a Policy Associate Manager to join the AI Policy team. The AI Policy team’s mission is to guide development and deployment of AI across Meta, and drive external engagement and advocacy around our top priority issues as we continue to build cutting-edge AI.

This role will work closely with the policy team and cross-functional partners across the company to drive the implementation of Meta’s long term AI strategy. They will serve as a policy manager responsible for creating and implementing processes, drafting leadership briefing materials and responses to requests for information, coordinating XFN partners, and working with subject matter experts and product leads to identify the most impactful, unanswered strategic questions around AI.


Elections Program Manager, OpenAI

This role will work closely with the Global Response team and reports directly to the Head of Global Response. OpenAI is seeking someone who can support internal coordination of its OpenAI-wide efforts around elections security and integrity for the EMEA region, especially in the run-up to 2024 which will be a historically important year for elections across the democratic world. This will require a unique blend of program management, executive communication, and the ability to collaborate in OpenAI’s highly fluid environment to drive decisions forward. This role will also be expected to collaborate with other relevant departments within the company as necessary; technical skills and/or experience working in product space required.


Digital Democracy Research Coordinator, Democracy Reporting International

DRI is currently recruiting a full-time Digital Democracy Research Coordinator for its Headquarters in Berlin. In collaboration with, and under the overall supervision of the Manager of Digital Democracy, you will shape DRI’s work on online political discourse, with a focus on monitoring and analysing such discourse, while also contributing to policy debates on regulation, the rise of artificial intelligence, and providing training on these issues. In this role, you will collaborate and coordinate with the Manager of Digital Democracy, the Executive Director, and the Digital Democracy Team as well as different teams in DRI HQ in Berlin and DRI Country Offices and beyond. You will design and implement projects and think-tank style research to gain insights and analyse the use of tech and digital tools for propaganda and disinformation during elections, referendums, transition processes, following conflicts and other salient political events.

Ofcom is recruiting a Principal on a fixed term 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. The purpose of this role is to oversee delivery of policy outputs relating to CSEA/terrorism tech notices and E2EE, support delivery of team objectives and key results, and work closely with cross-functional colleagues to effectively influence policy making and build understanding of technology policy and technical issues.
