Associate Counsel, Cybersecurity and Incident Management, Dropbox

As Associate Counsel, Cybersecurity and Incident Management you will be a key member of Dropbox’s incident response program. This fast-paced role includes supporting compliance with global data breach notification laws, engaging with regulators, and advising on a wide range of legal issues that impact all aspects of Dropbox’s business. You will also help coordinate a global program that promotes user trust and facilitates company-wide responses to customer-impacting events. If you are passionate about security, privacy, and incident response, and thrive in an environment of uncertainty, then this role is for you. (This role will filled at the Associate Counsel or Counsel level, depending on experience.)


Counsel/Senior Counsel, Liberty and National Security Program, Brennan Center for Justice

The Brennan Center seeks a senior attorney for its Liberty and National Security Program to work primarily on issues related to artificial intelligence (AI), particularly with regard to national security, intelligence, and law enforcement programs and agencies. The attorney will report to the Senior Director of the program and work with her to develop and execute a roster of projects that promote fairness, civil rights and civil liberties, transparency, and accountability in government programs that use AI. The attorney will supervise and work in collaboration with other staff in the program. 


Researcher (freelance), Ada Lovelace Institute

The freelance researcher would work to support desk research and qualitative analysis across potentially two research studies, one of them related to research and case studies on participatory data governance. The engagement with the research consultant would have an expected duration of 25-30 days, although this is not fixed and will depend on the progress and needs of the research. These days are to be distributed over approximately 3 months. This would entail, for example, working approximately 3 days a week or a similar flexible approach.

The Manager, Advisory Services, plays a key role in delivering on Article 19’s mission by managing consulting projects primarily within Article 19’s regulatory alignment practice, and also in Article 19’s work across human rights and sustainability. Joining a dynamic and fast-growing social enterprise, Article 19 is looking for an experienced project manager with an entrepreneurial and collaborative disposition. This is a rapidly evolving field which offers a wide variety of opportunities to collaborate with the world’s largest and most impactful companies to drive positive impact. 


Legal Intern, Schumpeter Project on Competition Policy (Paid or for Credit), Information Technology & Innovation Fund (ITIF)

The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), a Washington, DC-based think tank, is seeking a legal intern to conduct research, analysis, and commentary on U.S. antitrust law and innovation policy for the spring of 2024, starting on or after January 15, 2024. The ideal applicant should be a law student or recent law graduate with a demonstrated interest in U.S. antitrust law, competition policy, innovation and digital markets, as well as have exceptional research, writing, and analytical abilities. The position is available on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours a week. Ideally, the applicant will be located in Washington, DC.


Programme Lead, FOC Support Unit, Global Partners Digital

Global Partners Digital (GPD) houses the Support Unit (SU) for the Freedom Online Coalition (FOC), an intergovernmental coalition of 38 member states who collectively advocate for the promotion of human rights online. 

This role leads a small and dedicated FOC SU team. You will be essential to driving the team and developing and delivering the FOC’s programmatic work (FOC Programs of Action). As a high level role, you will be required to represent GPD and the FOC externally and frequently liaise with government representatives.

With many moving parts, you will be able to juggle multiple work streams and changing priorities. Prior experience of diplomacy or working with government stakeholders is essential. You will also be expected to travel with the role on a regular basis.


Digital Accessibility Specialist, State of Colorado

This position exists to ensure PSD digital materials are accessible to all and ensure compliance with HB21-1110. This work is a key component to PSD’s inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility priorities. This position supports the Prevention Services Division and its programs by testing documents and web content against digital accessibility standards using software tools provided by the department. This position remediates documents and web content and maintains documentation of compliance with digital accessibility standards.


Senior Advisor, Data & AI, Tony Blair Institute for Global Change

The Data & AI, Senior Advisor will have the political acumen to convincingly engage senior officials on the political importance and transformative power of data-driven governments and the growing impact of AI. Their experience advising governments or directly applying insights from data into a public sector context should be supported by a strong grasp of AI and other emerging technologies. They will be able to communicate how next-generation AI systems, Large Language Models, and advanced data analytics enable governments to be more adaptive and agile, while also stimulating innovation and growth throughout their countries more broadly.
