Senior Full Stack Engineer

Founded in 2018, All Tech Is Human is a non-profit based in Manhattan with a global lens and reach committed to building a stronger Responsible Technology ecosystem to tackle thorny tech and society issues and co-create a tech future aligned with the public interest.

The community that we are cultivating by bringing together a diverse range of individuals and organizations across civil society, government, and industry is a powerful force to affect the underlying tech pipeline, as new voices are entering the field who deeply care about the impact of technology.

All Tech Is Human has a range of activities that are all connected to building community and strengthening the overall Responsible Tech ecosystem. This includes our 7k+ Slack group across 85 countries, a large mentorship program, regular working groups, summits & mixers, and topic-based roundtables and events.

Position Summary

All Tech Is Human seeks a Senior Fullstack Engineer who is passionate about the Responsible Tech ecosystem and building technologies that have a positive social impact, to further our mission to co-create a tech future that aligns with the public interest.

We’re looking for a lead, fullstack software engineer for Tekalo! Tekalo is a platform that matches tech talent with opportunities at social impact organizations. This role is ideal for an individual who has previously been a fullstack engineer in a nonprofit or startup environment. You will work closely with the Tekalo program lead to maintain and expand the Tekalo platform. Your role will involve developing and executing a technology strategy for the expansion of Tekalo.

This is a full-time benefits-eligible position fully funded for two years with the potential for renewal contingent on funding. For this role, the right to work in the U.S. is required. All employees of Hopewell Fund are required to complete timesheets.

Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

●4+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer with at least 1 year of experience as a lead engineer

● Established history of operational responsibility for a full-stack application in production.

● Experience working or volunteering in the social impact space

● Extensive experience with full-stack web application development in the Javascript ecosystem, including familiarity with Typescript, React, HTML, and CSS

● Familiarity with deploying and monitoring applications in AWS

● Understanding of user requirements and constraints

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

● Advanced degree

● Passionate about social impact

● Can handle ambiguity

● Good communication with internal and external stakeholders

● Ability to work independently ● Proficiency with Google Apps, Slack, Squarespace, Substack, Canva, Zoom, Google Meet, Airtable, Asana

● Demonstrated experience working effectively as part of a team and with colleagues of diverse backgrounds and perspectives

● Familiarity with All Tech Is Human programs and community

● Commitment to All Tech Is Human’s mission, vision, core values, theory of change, and unique positioning in the field

What we offer

Salary: $125,000

Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive XX hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
